Project
When the campus was de-populated in March 2020 due to Covid-19, many MIT faculty and staff members, students, and alumni began working from home. We started to miss the faces we were accustomed to seeing on campus and wanted to help the community still feel connected while working and learning from home. Our “What does your remote look like?” campaign was born to help the community still feel connected as circumstances brought us apart.
Methodology
We asked the MIT community through Slack groups, social posts, newsletters, and individual requests to send us an image of themselves at their remote workspace and their responses to the following:
- Who are you quarantined with?
- What are you eating/drinking?
- Describe Zoom meetings in one word.
- What do you miss about the MIT campus?
Results
This morale-boosting campaign received a lot of positive feedback. The images were used in several Institute-wide webinars, events, and communications during the first several months of working from home.
